As you can see from the title of this blog, my instructional units are winding down as I am getting ready to transition to the School Testing Coordinator for PARCC and NWEA. Tomorrow, Thursday, February 16, our 8th grade students will be taking the NAEP test. Parcc testing will begin on March 6, 2017. During Parcc, we are tentatively planning for students to receive Health Education in lieu of Literacy Lab.
As we are winding down our instructional units, keep in mind that no new Literacy Lab assignments will be entered after March 3, 2017 in this quarter. Students in K to 2 are finishing up their typing, literacy and computer programming/coding units. Students in 3rd grade are learning how to use/create Google Slideshows. Students in grades 4 and 5 are finishing up the quarter learning about two new presentation programs, Prezi and Popplet. Students in grades 6 to 8 are working on their Final Group Projects for the year.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, either about Literacy Lab or schoolwide testing, please send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org.)
Meet Mrs. Habetler
I've been a teacher at Dever for twelve years. During that time, I've taught middle school language arts, science and social studies and been the literacy lab teacher. I have National Board Certification in English/Language Arts and teaching endorsements to my license that include ESL, Science, and Social Science and am one test away from having LBSI Special Education approval.
