My name is Kimberly Maman. I am originally from Milwaukee and I still spend many weekends visiting Wisconsin to spend time with my parents and sister. Both my parents are retired teachers. I grew up in a home where my parents emphasized the value of education and the importance to always try to help others in need. After graduating high school, I moved to Texas and graduated with a degree in Psychology. After college I worked in the fields of human resources and sales. It was at that time in my life that I decided that I wanted to work in the field of education, just as my parents did. I moved to Chicago and pursued a Master’s degree in School Counseling. I consider this decision to be one of the most important decisions I have ever made. After graduating, I worked as a school counselor at a CPS school on the Westside of Chicago for five years. I was then offered an opportunity to work for Dever as a school counselor. I love coming to work each morning and consider it an honor to work with Dever’s amazing staff, students and parents. In my free time I love to spend time with my husband and daughters. I love traveling, scuba diving, decorating my home and trying new restaurants. I am looking forward to a wonderful year at Dever!
