I can't believe we've already completed six weeks of school. That being said, please make sure your student has all their necessary supplies in order to be successful during the school year. All students MUST have headphones to use in class as well as the literacy lab. The headphones must have a USB jack. I found a pair at Walmart or you can find them on Amazon or Best Buy.
Here are some links for them:

To allow for adequate time in the afternoon for testing, our lunch/recess time will be moved up to 11:10-11:55 for the week.
Reading: We are finishing up our projects for Wonder. I'll post pictures soon! When we are finished, we will do a Gallery Walk to learn more about each character.
Writing: We are working on out biographies for Black History Month. Students were assigned a person who has made an impact. They are starting to gather research materials and compose questions they would like to find the answers to regarding their famous person.
Science: We are finishing our unit on Measuring Time. Students will now take the role of a STC Representative and create a brochure about the unit to try to "sell" it to schools.
Social Studies: Students are learning about black history, including the Emancipation Proclamation and the Civil Rights Movement.
Math: My class is finishing up the topic on multiplying fractions and whole numbers. We will be taking the test on Friday, February 17.
Don't forget this weekend is a 3 day weekend! Enjoy!!!
