Our Corner Grocery Store by Joanne Schwartz
Anna Maria takes great pleasure and pride in her grandparents’ corner grocery store. Every Saturday she spends the day helping to arrange fruits and vegetables, greet the customers, and keep things neat and tidy.
Your Senses at the Grocery Store by Kimberely M. Hutmacher
What will you hear? What will you smell? Take a trip to the grocery store and put your five senses to the test!
As parents, we know this all to well. Never go to the grocery store hungry. You will max out your budget before you pass the first isle!!
Room 002 Grocery Store
For the next month we will be learning all about grocery stores and what is needed for these stores to open each morning. The students are helping me plan this unit and they will be the ones to decide which direction we will go. Will we learn about where the produce comes from? Who stocks the shelves? What makes that conveyer belt move? I will be learning right along with them.
Our days will start with a story about grocery stores followed by any questions they might have. I hope to have our own class grocery store open for business by next week. In the meantime, we will be building, stocking our shelves and have cash register training.
We will have a guest speaker from a local grocery store later in March to answer any questions that might have been unanswered during our learning process.
Monday – February 20th – President’s Day
