Complete your explication of "Good Hot Dogs" (LoL 234) #3 and 7 in your reading spiral. Also, write your original "Good Hot Dogs" poem (#2 on your rubric) on loose leaf paper due tomorrow. Be sure to have another character with you, an original food described with imagery (visual, smell/olfactory, and touch/tactile); a clear setting, and an activity that both you and your friend are doing at the end of the poem (last 2 lines). Also, one line of your poem must include the title.

Complete yor explication of "The Rider" (61) using #2, 3, and 9 from your Explicating Poetry notes. For #9, focus on personification (3 examples), alliteration (2 examples), metaphor, and visual imager. All of #9 responses must be in direct text evidence from the poem.

For Monday, you should have re-read "Jabberwocky" (459). You needed to read "If I Can Stop One Heart from Breaking" (33) and explicate using #1 and #6 on your explication guide. Answers should be recorded in your reading spirals under the poem's title with the sub-headings assigned ("Meaning" and "Tone")
Denotation and Connotation worksheet was also assigned to be placed in your spiral.
For today, you must write your Poem #1 using "If I Can Stop . . ." as the mentor text. It is due tomorrow in final form on loose leaf paper.
There is no Caesar's Test this week, as there is no school Friday and the field trip Thursday.
